Micah has spent a lot of time in the woods with his grandfather who has a family hunting camp in the Upper Peninsula. Micah has learned a lot about hunting and safety and was eager to get a chance to harvest his first spring gobbler.
He was successful at harvesting a jake at 5:45 CST and may very well have been the first 9 year old to kill a turkey in Michigan! It was an exciting hunt and he performed superbly. Both his grandparents, Dean and Linda were afield with him this day. Dean was by his side in the blind instructing him and Linda was on a hill side a few hundred yards away watching everything unfold through her binoculars. Micah did exactly what he was supposed to and we are all so proud of him. He was much calmer than most adults on their first turkey hunts. We salute Micah and congratulate him on a great accomplishment. I know his family and friends are very proud of him as well.
